Integrated communication campaign

Task

Designing covers of top titles from the current respective publishing programme. A clear and concise corporate design was supposed to raise awareness and ensure high recognisability.

Solution

Good book covers are like litlle ads, which are meant to capture the readers’ interest even before they actually read it. The tricky part: the author, his or her work and the genre all have to be taken into account and duly reflected by a single visual and message. In the case of the Rowohlt book cover designs, this has been accomplished in an impressive way. Catchy titles and powerful visuals not only make the book covers stand out but can also be transferred, in line with the overall campaign, to any other advertising medium. A particularly convincing example: the covers of thriller author Simon Becket.
